In my random post from a few weeks ago, I mentioned my super secret landscaping project. I can’t wait to finally share the juicy details! But before we do, let’s take a look at where this little garden came from:

Here we are today. Quite a transformation, eh?
Here is a nice front view for you.
So what do we have here? We have some lovely petunias (look how big they are!!!!!). We inherited the lilies and had absolutely no idea what color they were going to be or how big they were going to get. Surprise! Maybe next year we will move the lilies around so the colors work a little better. For the shrubs, we chose Girard’s White Azaleas and a Penny Mac Hydrangea at the end of the row.

The drainage under the downspout didn’t work very well, so we added a little pathway filled with rocks to guide the water away from the house and my hydrangea.
As for the herbs… some are thriving… and some aren’t :)
My basil is doing particularly well. In fact, I just used it in pasta last night. Is there anything better in life than fresh basil in pasta? Not much.
Steve’s mom generously gifted us a full grown rosemary plant! It’s still alive, so I will call it a success! My own rosemary plant is coming along, just a little slower then the rest of his peers. The dill is growing like a bush! Look at that thing go! The runt of the litter is definitely the lavender. Despite planting a whole packet of seeds, only three little seedlings popped up. The little seeds that could. Or couldn’t, rather. Maybe they need more sun?
Yes, the rosemary plant is in tin foil. Don’t judge :)
So that is about it. We do have a whole other side garden, but it is a mess right now. Not worthy of my time, or yours. Perhaps another day?
How is everyone else’s gardens coming along? Any surprises?
Have a great weekend!
