Last we talked about the Master Bathroom, we saw this little inspiration board.
The idea for the walls was Copper Patina, a lovely seafoam green color from Benjamin Moore. But me and my indecision, took a trip to the paint store for a sample just to make sure that it was the perfect color. I also picked up a few more just in case :) So here we are:
Now that I have all these lovely colors on the wall, i am second guessing my first love (Copper Patina – #1) and am falling for the less bold Robin’s Nest (#4).
I even went as far to test it out next to the almond shower surround, the white trim and the tile floor to make sure the color combo flowed well. It does.
What do you think? Is Copper Patina a bit too bold? I feel like the Robin’s Nest would be a bit softer for a smaller space. Help!
Other than the big wall color dilemma, things are moving nicely here. I primed the vanity and trim last week – so they are all cured and ready for a real coat of paint!
As for the ceiling… I applied Sporicidin, which kills mold and mildew. After that I spackled my little heart out. Three days of spackling and sanding, sanding and spackling. It is ALMOST smooth. I think one more night of touch ups will make the ceiling look as smooth as…. ummm…. well you get the picture.
Woo Hoo!!! What have you all been up to lately?! Is anyone else as indecisive about paint colors as I am?

Yes! It’s really hard to choose the exact right color!! I like where you’re heading though.. very pretty.
story of my life. I have a color in my head, then when I get to the store, there are a million options and I can’t ever figure out which one to get! I think I prefer the softer Robin’s Nest though. but then again the picture of the copper patina by the shower looks good too. here we go again! :)
Are you painting the vanity top? I have the same dark brown vanity top and would love to change it.
I was toying with the idea of using Rust-O-leum’s countertop paint for $20, but I was advised that it was a royal mess to work with. I might end up trying it and adding a few coats of poly over it to seal it since it’s only $20. I have also read a few places that using regular paint and adding 2-3 coats of poly on top would work too.
Here’s the link if you are looking into it – http://rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=208
I think you have LOTS of company when it comes to indecision on paint colors. I can fret for weeks… but in the end I usually go back to the first color I choose.
It’s hard to get a feel for the other colors you chose but I really like the slightly darker shade of the copper patina (#1). When the colors are so close… I find that once you choose one and paint, you forget about the other ones and end of being happy with the final (and finished) result. I’m sure whatever you choose will be lovely.
Good luck… it sounds like things are going really well.
I definitely like the Robin’s Nest better! Both colors are beautiful, but I think the lighter Robin’s Nest will be better for the smaller bathroom space :)
I can never decide on paint colors but then again the same goes for everything :) I love Robin’s Nest and copper patina so you can’t go wrong with either one.
Thanks Mandy! And thanks for stopping by!
